School teacher

A 45-minute lesson is a small slice of the day — prep, grades, parents, and paperwork are the real load.

Income range: 3,000,000–15,000,000 UZS / mo

Takeaways

  • A teacher’s job is prep, grades, parents, and paperwork — not “just 45 minutes.”
  • Official education average ~4.97M UZS/month (H1 2026). From 1 Sep budget +7%; one rate ~3.39–5.0M (Flexa). Foreign-teacher packages ($2000–3500) are another market.
  • Shortages are heard more in English and STEM. AI drafts a plan; the room, the grade, and child safety stay yours.

Curriculum, the room, safety

A teacher delivers the curriculum: a goal, practice, a grade, safety. Mentoring and parents are the job. State school, private, Presidential schools, tutoring centers — conditions differ. A teacher is not a doctor or an entertainer.

A fit if you can stand people, repetition, and noise. A poor fit if you only want a quiet room and your own spotlight. Form-tutor work is an extra load.

The day before the bell

06:30–07:30 prep or marking. Four to six lessons. Breaks: duty, the register, a parent message. Evening: books or slides. Form-tutor work adds meetings and paper.

Summer is not a full holiday: training, catch-up, sometimes exams. Voice and back without breaks are a risk.

Degree, retraining, a book

An education degree or retraining plus practicum. You need subject and method. Development is periodic. Language teachers benefit from near-C1; not every school requires IELTS.

State schools usually want the diploma. Centers can be softer — check the license. Portfolio: a lesson plan, student work (with permission), a short video. Slide quizzes are a tool, not a lesson replacement.

Who can stand children’s noise

A fit: repetition, children’s noise, a parent’s phone. A poor fit: only “summer holiday” and pressuring your own class into tutoring. Voice without a routine is a risk.

First-semester mistakes

  • Treating a $3000 package as the local rate
  • Pasting a child’s name into AI
  • Entering as if the job is 45 minutes
  • Forcing your own class into tutoring
  • Reading 4.97M as a guarantee

The rate, +7%, tutoring

Statistics: education ~4.97M (H1 2026) — below the ~7.09M national mean. Flexa: from 1 September 2026 budget organisations +7%; one rate ~3.39–5.0M by category. A second rate, category, and leadership add on.

Tutoring and private schools are another line. Foreign English ads sometimes show $2000–3500 plus housing — not the local scale. There is no official “junior teacher” series.

Subject shortages and ads

Open talk cites shortages in English, math, informatics, sometimes physics. Read your region’s ads — the capital differs. Where: education offices, school sites, hh.uz, Telegram.

Language: lessons in Uzbek/Russian; private schools lean harder on English.

Foreign packages and relocation

A foreign-teacher package inside Uzbekistan and a job abroad are two paths. Both are visa/contract questions. This page is not a how-to. Do not convert $ at the FX and say “me too.”

AI in the classroom — the line

AI drafts a plan, a quiz, an explanation. It does not hold the room, make a grade fair, or see child safety. Do not feed personal data; do not set “let AI write it.”

Scarce: questioning, differentiation, talking to a parent.

Burnout and myths

Schools are not disappearing. Risks: voice, back, parents, paper. Myths: “45 minutes”; “$3000 is mine”; “AI will teach the lesson.”

Know this before the classroom

Can I teach without a degree?

In a state school usually no. Tutoring centers vary — check the license.

Which subject is short?

Open talk cites English, math, informatics, sometimes physics. Read your region’s ads.

Is tutoring mandatory?

No. Many add it because the rate is low. Do not pressure your own class.

Is private school better?

Often higher pay and a different load. Read the contract and hours.

What is one rate?

Flexa digest ~3.39–5.0M by category (2026, after +7%). That is not an official junior series. Ask the school accountant.

Should AI write homework?

It kills learning. You may draft a plan; the child writes their own text.

Does the foreign package apply to me?

Usually no — language, passport, visa. Do not add it to the local rate.

What do I do in the first lesson?

One clear goal, ten minutes of norms, one exercise. Do not wait for perfect slides.

Figures draw on 2026 sources: Uzbekistan National Statistics Committee (official sector averages, Q1/H1 2026), Flexa and hh.uz vacancy medians, and public IT Park / product-team guides. Not a guarantee — contract type, city, tax, and level change the range. Compare live vacancies yourself.
